Institute For Excellence In Sales & Business Development Announces Award Nominations Open For Award Breakfast

VIENNA, VA, February 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Institute for Excellence in Sales & Business Development (IES&BD) announced today that award nominations are now open for the organization’s 2011 awards and that Mark Ein will be the keynote speaker at this year’s awards breakfast event on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Marriott Fairview Park (3111 Fairview Park Dr., Fairfax, Va. 22042). Ein is the Washington owner of the World Team Tennis (WTT) Tennis team – “Washington Kastles”, and is a businessman and philanthropist. After just three seasons as the newest team in the 36 year old league, the Kastles have already won the league championship and generate ticket and total revenues dramatically higher than any other team in the league. He will speak on “Managing a Winning Organization” at the IES&BD awards breakfast.

The IES&BD Awards Program recognizes teams and organizations who have demonstrated exemplary performance through leadership, risk taking, innovation, vision, and customer development in sales and business development.

The following awards will be given to organizations in two categories, “Small to Mid-sized” and “Large”:

• Excellence in Innovation: Criteria include new sales processes, technology usage such as CRM or sales automation, and sales and marketing integration.
• Excellence in Team Building, Management and Development: Criteria include internal team development, hiring, recruiting, cross-functional development, retention, leadership development, and sales management strategies.
• Excellence in Sales Training: Criteria include training programs, online training programs, and third party training programs.
• Excellence in Customer Partnering: Recognizes how organizations work with customers to build great solutions that are bigger than the sale itself.

“Most organizations are desperate for advice, data, and information on best practices in sales and business development,” said Fred Diamond, co-founder of IES&BD and president of DIAMOND Marketing. “Organizations continually try to figure out how to get it right when it comes to hiring, prospecting, qualifying, and closing. These awards acknowledge the corporations and organizations that are getting it right.”

Diamond also said that one of the goals of the awards program is to build databases of best practices and thought leadership.

Also at the event, the annual Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Federal Business Development legend Robert Guerra.

Guerra, the executive vice president of Guerra Kiviat, Inc., will be recognized with the 2011 IES&BD Lifetime Achievement Award. Guerra is a highly respected veteran in the Federal Information Technology community and a legend in Government Business Development circles. On five occasions, Guerra was selected as one of Federal Computer Week’s Federal 100 award recipients. He has also been selected as the Federation of Information Processing Councils (FGIPC) “Industry Executive of the Year.”
