“Money won’t create success, the freedom to make it will.”
– Nelson Mandela
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison for his anti-apartheid activities. For many of those years, Mandela was harassed by his jailers and slept in a damp cell with a straw mat. Yet, even from prison he is credited with inspiring millions across the globe and upon his release, he changed his country and the world. Most of us have never been imprisoned physically, but our mental prisons keep us from freedom and from achieving financial, physical or physiological success.
So what is success? Dictionary.com defines success as follows:
1 – The favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one’s goals.
2 – The attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.
I believe that it does not matter how you define success, but it is important that you have a personal definition implanted in your heart that you pursue with vigor. However, as you define success, you must focus on truly being happy and content. H. Jackson Brow, Jr. has written over 30 books, but he is best known for his book 21 Suggestions for Success.
